2000 ford focus wont crank

Turn the key on and leave it on until the theft light blinks or goes off.It should start then.This could take 10 to 20 minutes.

what kind of noises is it making is it trying two start is it not doing anything? is there any lights in dash when it does and is it 4.6 liter or 5.4 triton

Battery light on ! alternator isn't charging . Test the alternator electrical circuits .Main cable on the back of the alt. should have B+ voltage .Pin # 3 at the connector on the alt. should have B + voltage - fuse F10 10amp under hood fuse box supply's B+ to pin #3 . Pin's 1 & 2 at the connector go to the PCM - engine computer . This is a computer controlled charging system .

You don't. You will have to go to a shop and have them put a scanner on your vehicle and then repair the problem with the PATS System

it could be your anti theft,if you have another key try it

try starting it up in neutral or check the anti thef ligth it should com on and then com of when you turn the key on but if it remainds on or flashing yuo must get a new key

The theft light flashing indicates there was a problem detected with the anti theft system. The computer will have to be scan tested and either repaired or reprogrammed. This is a very complicated procedure and requires specialized equipment. You will probably have to have it towed to the dealer or a very well equiped private repair facility. are you using the original key for the car because it sounds like a theft system problem I had a 2000 jeep that did the same thing it would start for a bit and then quit on me found out that the key has a chip in it so the key i got cut works for the lockes but cant use to run the car

hi sounds as if your batteries gone dead is this the first time it has done this and is the charging light going out either way you need to check the alternator is charging the batery and the battery charged up check fan belt yates210456

ON STARTER MOTOR YOU HAVE NORMALLY BLACK/YELLOW SIGNAL WIRE, THIS WIRE SEND VOLTAGE TO S/MTR TO ENGAGE CRANKING.. YOU CAN TRY PUTTING FEED TO THIS WIRE TO SEE IF STARTER TURNS OVER??
