Why is my 2001 Jeep Wrangler stalling when I slow down or stop at a light/stop sign?

Yes the check engine light is on, but when I'm driving 45 miles an hour or so it runs fine, the jeep is a 2001 and only has 50000 miles we are the original owners but it hasn;t had an oil change in quite awhile I do keep up on the oil just haven't taken it in to change it in a few months

Check that the brake booster is not leaking vacuum when you have your foot on the brakes and upsetting the air /fuel mixture at idle. When coming to a stop use the hand brake to stop the car and if it keeps idling ok then it will be the booster.

SOURCE: 2004 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon stalling out

I've had this problem on vehicles with 70k or more miles on them. Symptoms include rough or uneven idle and dying. OBDII showes no codes.

Bad fuel, vacuum leak, low fuel pressure, carbon build up, inoperable fuel tank ventilation, poor grounding, low voltage, intermittent relay contacts are possibilities.

The simplest and mostly likely problem is:
Carbon build up inside the butterfly. With the engine off, pull the intake off. Use injector cleaner and a shop rag to clean the intake throat where the butterfly is. Use a plastic or wood handle to hold the butterfly open to get both sides cleaned. If this doesn't clear the problem, check for vacuum leaks, loose hoses etc.

Check fuel pressure and replace the fuel filter if it's low.

It does sound like a vacuum leak. Get a can of WD-40 and start spraying around the carb. It will rev up, and U can pin point the loose vacuum hose, are crack vacuum hose.

SOURCE: 2002 jeep wrangler oil pressure gauge drops

When the gauge is at 0, is there any noise from the engine (tick, knock etc?) I would have someone put a mechanical gauge on there and read true pressure.Your driving pressure seems OK but if the low number is "real" something is wrong!
