2001 Lexus RX 300 fuel filter replacement?

My car has about 100,000 miles on it now and sporadically has begun to stall when I start it up. I took it in to get the fuel filter replaced and they told me that it was a lifetime part (? never heard of a lifetime fuel filter before) and that I might look into a fuel injector cleaning instead. Need advice?

They are correct, the fuel filter is in the fuel tank.
the most likely problem with your car, it sounds like, is the built in fuel pressure check valve in the fuel pump as failed, this causes start stall condition..

Do i need to replace y timing chain at 100K miles on my 2007 RX 350?

No, timing chains can outlast the life of the car. Only a problem if it starts making noise from getting too much slack, or jumping timing.
But that will probably be after the next 100,000, or more.

You dont need to go to adealer if the mechanic youre seeing can do and has the tools required to maintain the vehicle according to the hand book specs,as they are most certainly the best way to preserve the cars longevity.Basic servicing will only cover the basic things, all sorts of filters need to be changed at regular intervals with any car ,moreso Lexus ...Hence the reputation for reliability,so get any mechanic capable of doing these things whose qualified most importantly to do it.Theyre too nicer car to do less with

Lexus rx300 2002 starts and immediately stalls.

I have a 2001 Lexus RX300 with 120,000 miles on it and I know exactly what is wrong with this car. You either need a new a new Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) or you must clean the one you have with some throttle body cleaner. I cleaned mine a couple of years ago. They are usually good for about 80,000 miles and then they get dirty due to emission controls (smog being recirculated and reburned). The IACV is located near the trottle body on the underside. Check lexusownersclub.com and you will see specific instructions on how to clean this throttle body. It costs you a can of throttle body cleaner and some of your time and this condition will not occur again - I did it!

? to Replace Timing belt on 2000 Lexus Rx300 with 57,000 miles.

If it is running perfectly I wouldn't think that you would need to replace the timing belt. You shouldn't need to replace that until 100,000-120,000 miles. I would definitely hold off until now unless you have start having some timing problems. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for rating my response and for using FixYa!
