Do you not have a repair manual for your car? That would be the first step

Spark Plugs are located in the upper rear part of the engine. Because it is a V-6 engine, it is labor intensive. If I were you, I would pay for the mechanic to work on it. Same application with the fuel filter, located directly below the brake fluid reservoir. Labor intensive as well. 4-Cylinder Camry is a lot easier to perform tune-ups than the V-6. I had a 1988 Camry 2.0
4 cylinder and now I have a 2003 Camry 4 cylinder and a 1998 V-6 Camry 4 cam. I love the V-6 over the 4 cylinder because of its horsepower, but it is not fun to work with. Take it to a mechanic, you will thank yourself for it later.

On my 96 the plugs can be removed from the back side from underneath.

This is a job for the experienced machanic. Be sure that anti-seize grease is usen on spark plug threads.

2005 Camry

Yes I have an 05 Camry and the tune up is due at 36000. I have 40,000 and just looked at my manual. I wanted to consider changing my own spark plugs. I haven't done this in 15 yrears or so. I was rudely awakened by not even seeing where the plugs are located. They cover it all up and there is a condenser or something like that on top of each spark plug. Each item on top of each plug takes the place of a distributor. So if the timing is off it is from your spark plugs and/or these items that attach to each spark plug. They cost abour $ 118 each at discount auto parts. You have 4 of them on the LE.

I think I am going to return the spark plugs which cost about 6.50 each. I will just go get a tune up. Not worth my time to tear everything apart in a confined space take the screws off these condensor or what ever they call them that attaches to the spark plugs. then you pull them out very carefully hoping you don't ruin them. Yuck.
