Tried to replace dashboard cluster on my 02 plate x type jag now wont start at all and flashing up security failed can anyone please shed any light on what the problem may be thanks nigel

the instument pack is part of the pats. security system i guess the pack is saying pecus error, it needs to be programmed to the car so the other modules on the system recognise it, you need find someone with jaguar ids or compatiable diagnostic equipment to carry out this task.hope this helps.

PECUS ERROR E appear with yellow & red blinking lights (78550 miles)

thats a problem with one of the modules on the can or scp network it is saying there is a programming error, or the module does not belong to this car. have you changed a module of any sort/? they are all connected and will only function on the car they belong to unless they are reprogrammed with jag diagnostic equipment ie. ids software. its all part off the antitheft system

Pecus Error E

This is a network communication problem with the ECM, first check the battery voltage for a low voltage, start the car and recheck it should be about 13 to 14 volts if it is ok you may need a dealer. Good luck.

The message window is flashing red and amber light and the letters PECUS S. What does this mean and what should I do about it? My car is a 2002 XKR

You probably driving a mobile swimming pool !

Under the rear seat and the trunk fills with rain water. This corrodes the ECU connections to the on-board control modules.

Common problem with British cars....with the weather in the UK, you'd have thought we could produce water tight cars by now !

Code pooo1 fuel volume regulator control curcuit open map sensor reading 99 this is on xtype diesel this reading is with just ingnition on when runnig reading goes up but never below 99 is map sensor...

Hello! The PERCUS...E...Code is an Electronic Control Module (ECM) programming error or failure...The grounding may be at fault...Using an ohm meter set on X10 scale...Read from center of negative battery post to bare metal on chassis and then to engine block...Should read very near zero ohms...If these readings are OK...The ECM needs to be re-flashed (reload software) at a dealership.

MAP reading across wire colors Black/White (+) and Black/Green (-) at idle should be 1.1 volts...(.99 is a correct reading)...Throttle up and voltage increases to 3.75 volts w/o erratic movement...This indicates MAP is OK...

Jaguar codes

thats interesting, the pecus lighting up on your dash means a control module wasnt fully programed, or in the process of being programed. ive only seen that pecus warning light once when a module failed to download the proper information. The low oil light and this pecus fault are not related.

The only way to get that light off is to bring it to a jaguar dealership.

In my case went this happened to me i was performing a recall that had me go though this download process. Now, if this problem applies to the recall then jaguar will pay for the repair and all you have to pay for is the diagnosis fee which is different with any dealership.

You can check on-line, for have the dealership look to see if their are any recalls on your vehicle.
