SOURCE: Automatic door locks will not work.

you need to take it to the dealer and have them check the bcm for codes.... also have them check to be sure you have the latest software in the bcm.. its possible that you just need a software update... there are several TSB's covering the concern you have..... it can be a very simple fix with software or even a stuck lock switch may need to be replaced... without the proper diagnostic codes being read from the bcm all that can be done is guessing..and that can be expensive...

replace the key fob, please contact mercedes, who will supply u with a pre programmed key, it will save u a lot of aggro in the long run

there is a reset switch to the alarm if it is a factory alarm ask dealer if not you will have to trace it yourself good luck

2000 sonata 6cyl 4 dr sedan.. auot door locks keep locking and unlocking while driving step on clutch and it doe's it like the car is haunted started out of the blue any ideas thanks

Put in a rack and pinion on a 2004 ram truck . Started truck and turned steering wheel and steering got tight then Horns went off and airbag light came on .
did you disconnect battery ? bet you did ! you need to reset anti-theft ,disconnect battery again but first open drivers side window all the way and keep keys in your hand (auto locks may lock doors )reconnect battery when lights and horne go off put key in drivers door and turn open lock open lock 3 times that should reset it.

I have a 99 vw jetta and the battery died we disconnected the battery to get a new 1 but he key wont open the door how do i get the door open to reconnect the new battery?
try this,reconnect the new battery and then lock/hold the key over for 30 secs,then unlock/hold the key over for 30 secs,the windows will go down if its trying to reset.then lock/hold over the key again,then press/hold the unlock button on the remote,this will fully reset the cental locking/alarm/immobiliser system.

suggest that you disconnect the positive cable from the battery for 10minutes. when you re-connect the battery,manually lock the driver door with key,then wait,1minute,unlock the door manually with key. this should reset the alarm.or try this before you disconnect the battery.lock with key manually.wait 1minute,then unlock manually.hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com

allright,thank you for consulting fixya.com. try to reset your computer in car by disconnecting the positive cable on the battery for 10mins. but make sure your vehicle has not been vandalized 1st. inspect the key switch please. if all good there, look at your radio system, if all good there, reset the sysytem by disconnecting the pos. side terminal on the battery for the 10mins please. when you reconnect the battery, you may need to manually lock the doors with your key. lock the doors for 2mins then unlock the doors with key and then attempt to start the car.this should reset the alarm. hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com

all vw MUST be reset after battery dies/changed.put key in door,unlock/hold key over 30 secs(windows go down)then lock/hold key over 30 secs(windows go up/sunroof closes)then press unlock button on remote for 30 secs......RESET DONE......(try this for fun....sit in car after turning off engine/remove key,drivers door keypad is still live(until you open door)ALSO when engine is running lower any window and then raise up with fingers in top of door,the window will rollback.(if you do it once it hurts..twice it really hurts..three times it traps your hand in.)ALL THIS is NOT in the handbook.......

It is a setting in the flash memory of the EMS. You probably lost the setting when the battery was disconnected and the EMS reverted back to the default setting. Your dealer can reset it again for you.

Remote not working after disconnecting battery
If car Convenience Control Module(module that control key remote) lose power- remote adaptation to the car will be lost. This apply to some Audi models.
What you can try to do is:
1. Disarm alarm manually by opening door lock with the key
2. Put key into ignition and turn to on position (don't start the car)
3. Press few times remote button (with the ignition in on position)
Depends on your year model it my work (works on the newer models), if not you have to go to the dealership to program your keys.
