Jetta converting auto trans to manual

I have everything I need but a good wiring diagram. I'm trying to wire things up but came to a junction box that have connectors in them from engine harness going into the interior under dash . it has the same amount of connectors as the manual engine and trans I'm installing but wire configuration is different along with some of the number of wires in a few of the connectors .I came across a few forums where they used the original auto trans engine harness and computer but since I have all of that from the donor vehicle I thought I'd use it until I got to this point. any suggestions that will help me here I'd surely appreciate it thanks.

You don't mention which series the car is (Mk 2...). I would highly suggest picking up a Bentley manual for the car though. Much better than any other aftermarket book out there. Mine (for Mk 2's) has all the wiring diagrams in the back. They are pricey, but it'll pay you back many times over if you like to wrench your own car.

If you haven't purchased the plugs yet. The wire color codes should be included in the package.

  • If you are using used plugs ck the back of the plugs for color or function of wire
  • Wht - ground
  • red - stop
  • blue - accessory/aux
  • brown - tail
  • black - Marker
  • grn - left turn
  • yellow - right turn

Puttin 318 motor and auto trans from 1976 dodge aspen into a 1978 dodge aspen with a 225 super six and auto trans, what needs to be done to accomplish this mechanically

I am not certain as I have not done this actual swap, but since the 318 was an option I would think it would be a drop in swap.

The low beams the windshield wipers rear windshield wipers quit working all the fuses seem to be good everything seems to be proper what's the problem

Well Chuck it depends on the make , model an year vehicle you have ! You would need to look at a wiring diagram to see if these thing's have anything in common . Maybe a electronic control module controls them ! GM vehicles use the BCM - body control module to control these thing's in some vehicles , Ford uses The GEM - generic electronic module or SJB - smart junction box an Chrysler has there modules too ! You can go to www.bbind.com for free wiring diagrams ! click on technical information then TSB'S wiring diagrams ! Good luck

2000 jetta changing harnesss in engine compartment because i swapped engine and trans from auto to standard and want to use manual wiring harness but when i get to where it connects to the interior wires...

No easy way I know of, perhaps if you can get hold of the auto and manual wiring diagrams and work from there, you will have to change the computer as the manual and auto are not the same.

Where would you find all the ground wires

scattered throughout the vehicle. every system and sub system will have several, as well as chassis to motor grounds, and junction box grounds. i recommend purchasing a serve manual they are cheap (10-15 bucks) and will cover all sorts of good stuff, including wiring diagrams
