My brother has one of these and his mechanic tried the quick fix for $1,000. Lasted 2 weeks. He wanted nearly $4000 more for rebuilt unit installed, so brother sold him the car cheap. (reliable mechanic for last 13 years and 6 cars.) How many miles on yours?

In a 2003 jetta what dose it mean when the little bowie oil thing mean when it comes on!

Recommendation for TDI motor is branded Fully Synthetic with rating at least CF-4 5W-40.
