Wow and engine swap on fixya, are you kidding?????
why not join a real honda forum.?

first off: get the FSM for both cars. that be day 1.
then ask on a real forum under the swaps sections.
what to expect, yes, do expect many things to not work.
first google hit, am i blessed with luck?
http://www.civicforums.com/forums/15-buy-sell-trade/333878-engine-swap-specifications.html
try there.

Testimonial: "Most opinions I've gotten on this go around in circles. The indicator dash lights would be nice but does not effect the way this Del Sol runs now. The JDM B16A-A/T Vtec out runs my wifes 2006 Acura TL V/6 Vtec. I'll checkout the swap forums. Next question is chipping a A/T. So far all I get is chipping a M/T 5/speed. Thanks"

SOURCE: have used 1998 accord w/ cobra security. after

ok - here is ur best bet - - - remove the radio - - ask a local radio sales and installer like - best buy - etc - - to see how much to install it - - then have them do it - better yet - put the old radio back in first - and see --

could be other things but for say 70.00 u get ur car right - electronics are today - best left to the pros
some of the common radios have built in amps - these amps can draw way too much power -- so let the pro get at it - worth the money in the long run

How to install a subwoofer and amplifier

When installing any electrical components always remember to unhook the battery. First thing you want to do is run your ground cable from a volt meter to a body or frame nut or bolt near by in the trunk or hatch area a shorter thicker ground is best then connect the other end of your volt meter to your battery cable that will need to be run through the firewall and connect to the positive battery terminal. Also VERY important make sure you have installed a fuse on the wire in between the amp and the battery. after you have connected the battery cable and ground to your meter it will light up or give you the correct reading for your ground, if not run the ground somewhere else until you have found the right spot. pull out your stereo, for stereos that are made to be compatible with an amp there will be multiple rca jacks in the back of the stereo. For a sub woofer you want to hook the rca cable to the rear or sub labeled rca jacks. Then run your amplifier remote wire to the remote wire protruding from the back of your car stereo. After that you can run the ground and battery cable to the correct slots. Now connect your sub via rca and your done. making it fit correctly is up to you. If you do not have an amp with a subwoofer out then you can take the wires from your sub and bridge the connection to your amp and get enough power, take the positive wire to your sub and hook it up to the positive terminal of channel one on the amp then take the negative wire from your sub and hook it into the negative terminal on channel two and your done.

What other engine will fit a 97 civic ex?

The 96-98 Civic EX came with an OBD2A D16Y8 engine. That is the only engine that will go in as a direct replacement with your current engine ECU. It's an SOHC VTEC engine that has two extra connections not found on the other 96-98 Civic engines - a VTEC solenoid and a special oil sensor used to determine if VTEC engagement is possible. If you swap in an older Civic engine (92-95 generation) you'll have to convert the car to OBD1 (requires a special adapter hardness) and run the ECU that goes with whatever engine you use. This will break functionality of your OBD2 diagnostics port, and depending on which state you live in will cause you to fail emissions checks. If you install a D16Y8 engine from a 99-00 Civic EX, you will have to swap the intake and exhaust manifolds from your old engine to the new engine, and you will be able to continue to run your existing OBD2A wiring and ECU. The 99-00 Civic EX engines have additional sensors, since those engines are OBD2B. The easiest fix would be to find a SOHC VTEC D16Y8 from a 96-98 Civic EX, as it would be a direct plug and play replacement.

Does a h22 motor just drop in a 91 accord , is there anything i should know

You will need to know if is a h22a or h22a4. The h22a has the kind of fuel injectors that you'll need with your current set up. Also, you'll need the ECU. If you are putting a 95 or newer h22a in the car then you'll need a P13ecu to run the Vtec. You'll also need to run power to the vtec solenoid on the h22. If you're using a 96 or new Prelude engine it will be OBD2, your current wiring is OBD1. Your best bet is to get a 92 thru 95 H22a only.

Just a question

The swap is easy but too much to post here. I will fit into any civic 89-00 with the right aftermarket mounts from hasport or just go to ebay. The engine harness can be purchased at a local juck yard if you don't have a harness with 4 injectors. I you have only two injectors then the harness will need to be modified with vtec wiring and ad the other 2 injectors. Any 90-93 integra axles will fit as long as you use the halfshft. Must be manual. and use a modified shif linkage from ebay. Youmust take off the caps behind the civics hubs. Use a PWO or PR3 ECU. Good luck.
