I have a 1888 sts on which the red battery light flicckers on and off when moving away from traffic signals, all the electrical lights go off and on again momentarily at the same time. I have had the a and b ckp sensors replaced but to no avail. Some times the service suspension system message comes on and the TC light comes on too. These will go off when I stop and restart.
My local garage cannot find the fault as there are no error codes for the flickering lights.
Any help would be gratefully accepted.
Sounds like your belt to the generator or alternator is slipping on acceleration.Turn off eng an ck tension by moving belt up and down at point between alt and pully. should not move more than 1 inch. The other lites may be due to low battery level.

never seen a deville so cant help,but it sounds like a relay is not being controled by the ECU and to locate this fault need special software and again to reset vehicle .sorry i couldnt tell you more know the fault but without dealer software ??i could only rewire to make it work

The problem is with your $85.00 leveling sensor-- its another $150.00 labor.

you need to have a pulley puller to get the pulley off if you don't have one most auto zone part stores have a loan a tool program and they can help you with that on most powersteering pumps the high pressure line will be a fitting or bolt on and the return line is usually just a squeeze clamp hope this helps good luck

on my 1998 Deville its located in the trunk. the panel thats is butted up to the back of the rear seat. look for some black nuts around the top of rim of the trunk, they are about 1'' long, these have to be removed first... good luck.....

First thing you have to do is list all the codes, because some some might be stored for a long time. Pushing the OFF and WARM buttons together and holding will ghive you all the stored codes. Then press OFF and HI together to clear all codes. Hold and wait for bars or 0's. Now start your car and let it get up to proper operating temps. Take car for aride that aincludes all phases of driving including highway speeds. Observe SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT for coming on . Assuming it does , repeat steps previously provided, read codes stored and repair accordingly. If need be contact me with new codes and I will try to assist you.
The flasher is hidden under the left (drivers) side of the dash, in the vicinity of the steering column.

i have now had the spark plugs and the ht cables replaced, also the throtlle body and sensors cleaned.
still red battery light flickering at5 moving away from lights.
help!!
