Laguna 2003 fob key card

switch ignition on
switch ignition off
hold lock button for 10 seconds aprox
turn ignition off
remove key

Might need a new key fob - or reprogram the one you have (google)

May be keyfob needs reprogramming.

Keyfob remote reprogramming is not very difficult but on some cases it can be done by dealer service tools.

If the remote s faulty then key fob will not get programmed.

Insert the key in ignition. Turn the key to on position, and cycle the key three times off-on-off-on-off-on. Then with the key fob remote select your remote and then try to operate the vehicle with remote.

These are just the basic procedure, but sometimes it will not help.

On that case dealer is the only option.

Try with brand new key fob battery and see.If that helps.
Otherwise May be keyfob needs to be reprogrammed.

The key fob battery, the theft module , must be causing the problem.The car not getting open with key, may be key needs reprogramming.-------- There is a battery in a key fob, many a times battery gets weak or dead, causing the problem.But if battery in key fob is already replaced, then theft alarm needs to be reprogrammed by the dealer.The theft system is not letting the car to start.----------- Both key fob and theft module needs to be reprogrammed by the dealer.Its done by a reprogramming scanner.Not a error code scanned, but a reprogramming tool scanner.----------- That will only pin point the problem,if the theft module is got faulty or just needs reprogramming.---------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

I presume you have the grey key card, do you have a second key card with the same problem, and when you press the the unlock button does it feel a bit flat comparison with the lock button, if this is the case then you're going to have to order a new card key from renault.
All working card keys must be present when reprogramming a new card because of the new code entered to immobiliser renders cards not programmed useless.

Are you sure the connection to the battery inside the FOB is good? The one I have, it is possible to push the battery too far down and it does not quite connect.
A dealer can also reprogram it or sell you a new one based on your vehicle is number.
