No tricks...if you got any of the original paperwork with the vehicle check and see if anyone wrote down the code (on the inside cover of the manual etc) If not, go to any dealer and show them that you are the owner and they can get the code for you. When you get it, write it down so you will always have it! (I never heard of a dealer charging for that info)...Good luck with your vehicle!
Well, I have a Suzuki Grand Vitara, and the radio code is NOT available from the dealer! Suzuki corporte told me they don't have it either. The ONLY way to get it is to pull the radio from the dash and get the VIN number off of the radio. That is ridiculous. It's not on the original paperwork either. Good luck. You're going to have to pull your radio, as crappy as that is.

I had the same problem. You cannot get the code from the dealer - they don't have it. suzuki will tell you that the only way to get it is to pull your radio from the dash and get the VIN number off the radio. You'll have to pay someone to pull the radio to get that number and then contact Suzuki. Good luck. this wound up to be a costly and lengthy project for me. The Vitara has been a dream car, but after having to go through this just to have a radio, I am not sure I will be purchasing another. You'll never have a problem this riduclous if we bought American!
