So i just removed the odl factory radio in my Ford F250 1986 and i didnt want to spend the money on harnesses so my buddies and i used some testers to make sure we connected all the wires up correctly. But when i went to leave my house that night i realized my dash wouldnt light up. So i pulled out the Asessories, radio, and cluster illumination fuses and i realized that the cluster illum fuse was blown when i changed it i tried turning them on again but the fuse blew again right away. What might be wrong and how do i fix it? plz help thankyou
You have wired something wrong. Find a different power wire for your radio. Best to hook a power wire into the fuse box, and have an inline fuse for you radio. And then run a ground wire to your steering column or something.
If it's not that, then you must have pulled a wire off somewhere, and now it's grounding out and blowing your fuse. Have fun. Wiring sucks!
