2003 Nissan Altima Brake Lights Out

My 2003 Nissan Altima brake lights are out. While getting in the car (car not on) i heard a loud noise and then the car kinda jerked. This is the only thing i can think of when my brake lights stopped working. The top break light in the window still works. can anyone help. I know nothing about cars, is this something only a mechanic can fix? Please help before I pay Nissan 100$ just to find out what it is.

Why cant i shift my 03 nissan altama out of park

Check to see if you have brake lights. No lights, replace the brake switch at the pedal. This will fix the park problem. If you have lights, then it could be wiring or a bad solenoid at the shifter.

The "buzzing noise"; I can tell that I am not alone in having this problem but has someone figured out ... I fit does, that eliminates the brake rotors, tires, wheelbearings, CV's etc. ... BUT with an Altima it is probable the pre-cats. Loud humming noise when driving

1994 Nissan Altima. Brake lights are out and can't get the car out of park. heard this is a safety feature. Any way to get around it

you can replace your brake switch, which is located by the pedal, or you can remove a little plastic cover by your shifter, stick a screwdriver in that hole and it will release the lock for your shifter

Brake lights not working

Should be from inside the trunk.. Undo the pannel molding and you will see how to get to the bulbs from there..

Check the brake light switch under the dash at the brake peddle and make sure its working if it does not close when you depress the brake peddle the lights will not work You may hve to remove the lower cover for the dash to get at the switch

The battery light and brake light and engine noise on my 2003 Nissan Altima.

Hello and thank you for using FixYa!

When those 2 lights come on, it's normally a alternator not charging properly. I would have it checked to verify.

Thanks Jay!

Nissan Altima brake light

what that means is your socket is is probably shorted to your running lights there is a constant feed of voltage to that circuit. i would take a circuit probe and trace a wire to the spot of the short. good luck.
