New fuel pump about 30k miles ago and new filter. very hard to start when sitting overnight - will start after numerous crankings - fuel pump hums when key is turned on, but have to turn key off and on numerous times engaging starter and getting 'almost starting' several times before engine finally lights off. No problem afterward unless allowed to sit for an extended period of time.

i had similar problem. hard to start in morning but once started, would start everytime until next morning. i changed fuel pump, filter, fuel pressure regulator, coil, cap, rotor, pickup coil, battery. i was finally told the '96 had a recall on the fuel injection assemby. i changed that out with the new mpf system and it solved the problem. runs like a striped ape. hope this helps.

look under the hood on the right side where your brake fluid is..There is a black box to the farest right of the brake fluid. take off the lid to this box were you will find fuses..Reach in and feel the fuses to see if any are loose. The largest fuses in the front, push down on those and then try to start it up..Take them out look at them make sure there ok if this dont work..they the one bad might need to be replaced..
