Wiring Diagram I just bought a 1983 Chevy S10 4WD 2.8L V6, carburator, with unbelievable problems. I bought a manual but it doesn't include a wiring diagram and I have a pink and three white wires coming out of the ignition coil to the distributor but can't figure out which wires go where. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Depends on which 3.8 you have because there were two avaliable in that car .One was the buick 231 cubic in and the distributor was on the fron of the engine.The other was the chevy 229 cubic inch engine and the distibutor was in the back just like on the small block v8.If you have the buick motor be prepared to swap everything including wiring harness and transmission.If you have the chevy v6 it not so bad but you will really need a donor car(monte carlo,cutlas,lemans)with a 305 or 350 for the wiring harness ,radiator shroud ( shorter on the v8) ,a/c lines (longer on the v8).Years ago I had a lemans wagon with the chevy 3.8 that i put a Monte Carlo ss motor in and it looked like it came with it.bought a wrecked mc( hit in the rear) and swapped everything.Including coil springs and sway bars front and rear.And yes the SS 15 inch wheels too! It was a real cool sleeper.Miss that car.

Check out faxonautoliterature. They carry dealer service manuals which would include a complete wiring diagram. I've used them before and had excellent service. Hope this helps.

Wiring diagrams are model specific,your best bet would be to check out faxonautoliterature. They carry dealer service manuals which would have the complete wiring diagram for your car, including all optional equipment. For some cars they carry seperate wiring manuals as well. You could also try e-bay but you want the service manual not the owner's ,manual. Hope this helps.

Distributor turns clockwise. Number 1 at 5 oclock position. Firing order is 1-6-5-4-3-2

Faxonautoliterature lists the original GM service manual for your van, which includes wiring diagrams, for $54. They have excellent service.

he can buy the haynes repair manule at autozone it has the diagram in it near the back cost $15.00  plus helpful for later problems

The wiring harness is different for a carburated truck. You can get the wiring books from the dealer, or try to find it on line.
