Both of these lights will come on and then go off at same time. I've had it checked out twice and the mechanics could not find anything wrong with my car. It has over 156,000 miles on it. Then yesterday I noticed the rear lights while car was off and lights were off. I'm also having an issue w/left blinker. It goes double time when I click it to turn. ?
If the blinker is doing double time then there is a blown bulb or bad connection somewhere in the lighting system. Check all bulbs and sockets for wear, rust , moisture. It is in your rear light system.. replace all rear bulbs clean connections. Be certain to use recommended bulbs. In some cars universal bulbs can cause a voltage reading problem. Also check your brake switch.

hi more than likley to be the alternator remove your fan belt start engine see if noise disapears yates210456
SOURCE: just hit 180,00mi and battery and brake light diming
Have the battery tested and the alternator tested, the other issue may have a code stored to help point in the right direction, at that many miles things are bound to wear out.

make sure the button is working, it may need to be replaced. with your foot off the brake peddle, it is on upper part of brake peddle arm. when you let off brake peddle it pushes button in to shut lights off. it may just be stuck in, spray a little lubracant on it if it's stuck and push in manually several times to loosen.
SOURCE: 98 altima oil light on and off oil level fine car restarted and
If oil pressure is LOW this vehicle has a safety feature that will prevent vehicle from starting.(check oil level before you start) Now what I wan't you to do is to have the oil pressure switch checked or changed. This may be the reason why this vehicle is not starting or it can also be that the actual oil pressure is low. To check the oil pressure of the vehicle you will need an oil pressure guage. Remove the oil pressure switch and connect guage to oil pressure hole and check oil pressure while cranking vehicle. Some pressure testers can be connected to oil filter housing either is fine. If this vehicle has low oil pressure the reasons for that are bad oil pump, clogged oil pump pick up(from lack of oil change/poor mantainence) or bad connecting rod and main bearings but this usually have a warning from before (the engine will sound loud by knocking /clicking-tapping noise) It this was happening you may need to rebuild this engine or replace it. Good luck and Thanks for using FIX YA
