Would like to put the original CD changer/player

HIYA I THINK IT SHOULD HAVE A MULTICHANGER IN IT AT THAT AGE THAT SHOULDNT STOP IT WORKING MABY CHECK IF THE FUSE FOR THE RADIO IS OK FIRST IF THATS OK TAKE THE HEAD UNIT OUT AND CHECK ALL THE CONNECTIONS MABY SOMEONE HAD AN AFTERMARKET CD PLAYER FITTED BEFORE

I think just few people do this, so, you just have a try.
and, when do this, you need a OBD2 tool 2013 BMW ICOM to help your work

If ur radio is bad maybe your antener has come lose at rear of head unit... some systems also earth through the antener so this could cause it to shut off. Hope this helps.. Craig

According to my cross reference,the coil for 2008 528i is the same as 2003 525i.

You should use the same brand of coil so the internal resistance is the same.

I have the same problem...got so sick of it, so I just replace the CD player

Remove arm(s), put wiper motor in park,(shut off) then re-install arm at base of windshield where they were before,when shut off.(in park position.)

2000 bmw 528i,my cd changer also reads no cds,this seem to be a common problem with all bmw cd changer.Anyway i removed the cd changer from my car,took the outside black cover apart only to see that a white big wheel came of its place,(its the wheel that holds the cd in place from the top (bottom wheel is black attached directly to the motor,as the cd is sandwitched between the black,and white wheels) .if that wheel is out of place the cd will not turn inside the changer for the eye to read it,so your radio screen will read NO CD OR NO DISC.Very easy fix,just place the wheel in its place,and everything worked fine,it took me 20 minutes to fix.
p.s :
1- you do need to make sure you have an original cd in for testing it.
2- you do not need to recode your cd changer at the dealer if you have an old bmw,dealer will need to recode cd changers for 2006 and up.

the cd changer is malfunctioning, the factory cd changers usually don't last that long because of the heavy use and many mechanical puts

Look in the back where the cd changer used to be if there are any loose wires make sure that they are not touching, If there arent any wires touching, Check the fuse box and see if the radio fuse has blown.
