Car won't start lost key i want to know how to start with a passkey

I need instructions in detail so i can start my 1991 ninety eight oldsmobile with a Vats passkey

    key wont start car in park /neutral. yet can put key in run pos. and short srarter out and starter engages motor starts and runs for no more than 2/3 seconds fuel pressure at fuel rail and pressure relelease is normal fuses seem to be ok. used diffrent vats/passkey no change . can u help??????

    You 1st have the car towed to a dealer and have the ignition lock replaced then the module must be programmed to accept new lock cylinder.

The system you have is Passkey VATS. On your 91 there are 2 ways to bypass this system. One is a partial bypass that works in certain situations, and another that works in ALL situation. This link explains alot and offers solutions to help you beat this.

Hi i hava 1991 ninety-eight and it wont start, it gives me a message about the pass key malfunction. the car hasn't been started in over 3 months, when the car shut down, i was just leaving the gas...
it is a matter of resitting the anti theft ....with a good strong battery in it try to start it and then leave the key on for 11 min then it should start ...final fix though ...clean all cable connections /grounds and if that dont fix replace the electric part of the ignition

How much does it cost to replace an ignition key for a 1991 Ninety-Eight Oldsmobile Regency?
It depends on your area. You can replace the ignition switch portion yourself. However the key lock has a chip on it that tells your cars computer it is ok to start. The dealer will have to re-program your cars computer to tell it that that key lock cylinder is ok to start the car.

1991 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight Regency I can't determine how mice are getting into the car. They are inside the car; I.E. under the seats,in the glovebox, in the trunk, etc. I put a screen over the air...
Get some dryer sheets and moth balls and put them all over where the mice are.They will leave.They don`t like the smell.I can`t tell you where they are getting in because I don`t know but you will have to look around the vehicle and see if you can find a hole.It does not take a very gig hole either.Hope this helps.Good luck.

The hood of a 1991 oldsmobile ninety will not open
the easiest way is to strip the end of the original cable and pull the cable to open the hood. if not you have to raise the car and try to reach the hood latch and open if from there.
