Stop guessing, please.$$$$$
hot or cold engine, or both.
ever heard of engine stall? the rpm drops below 800 and stalls?
the engine rpm is KEY
post all symptoms, and we can fix it.
so far all i have is the hint of a stall or engine running at 300 rpm.
the alternator don't work at 300 rpm. at stall or near that.
your car dont have a tachometer? if it has one learn to watch it.
stalls are complex.
can be.
The engine PCM controls idle speed and Regulation at all times.
and is the LAST thing to work right, in EFI.

think of a juggler of bowling pins, a delicate balancing act.
so if the pins are slippery , he drop one, so easy.
EFI is Electronic fuel Injection (makes spark too , on gas engines..)

on EFI, idle fails (low) 800 is normal hot block, (look up yours. no engine options or size or cylinder counts stated)

the low RPM is caused by. many things. (i have a list of 50) so skip that....
1: too rich , too lean,. misfiring, DTCs set, ever scan the PCM YET?
2: EGR sticking open(clean it)
3: ISC (IAC electric) stuck closed, (again clean it)
4: never did the 60k mile tune up? if you did it would run ,if not the person doing it would tell you why it dont run right or even fix. it.
during a tune up , we check the ISC and EGR for filth and clean them.

now ill do the marco (physics answer)
1: bad engine, engine compression bad on 1 or more cylinders.
2: bad spark , tuneups fix this 99% of time, and work
3: bad fueling. (vastly complex. but most times bad inputs to ECU)

there are exceptions, but all land on #1 (stops engine from pumping air)

SOURCE: 2002 sequioa sudden stall

Often when the battery is disconnected or replaced the computer will lose it's learned idle settings. You could try letting the engine idle in park until the engine temperature comes up to normal and leave it like that for a few minutes, then put the Air con on and let it idle again for a few minutes, then switch the air con off and put it into drive. If it does not stall, let it idle in drive for 2 minutes or so, and then do the same with the Air con on. This should relearn the base idle settings and stop it from stalling on you. Before you carry out this procedure you should make sure that when you replaced the battery you didn't remove any other plugs or knocked anything that may be causing the fault. If you try this procedure and it still stall when you select drive, you will need to get a Mechanic to check the vehicle over.

Hope this helps,
Mark.

check for vacume leaks listen for a hissing sound if you here one but cant pin point it you can use a spray bottle of gas of can of ether both very flamable so be gentle and spray around the sound when the engine revs up theres your leak thats where i would start

SOURCE: When starting my 2002 tundra, V-8 engine it

Check the connections to the battery, that they are shiny and clean and wire brush vigorously, if necessary at the contact points.

Remove the negative cable first.

SOURCE: Replaced battery alternator checked out ok battery

There are usually 2 leads going to the battery clamp on the positive terminal. check both for tightness and corrosion. Check post clamps on battery also.

2000 tundra odometer stopped working

The check engine light should come back on at some point.
Chances are the problem is the speed sensor in the transmission.

My battery light indicator went on I immediately went and purchased a new battery, well the light is still on and now when I slow down at stop signs is dies, it starts back up BUT what could it be now???

The battery light only comes on to tell you that the BATTERY IS DISCHARGING with the engine running. The usual CAUSE is the alternator or battery cable connections, NOT the battery itself.

Sounds as if you may have an alternator going out on you. Before buying one remove it and have it checked.

Your problem is either the Alternator isent charging its 13.5 volts and the battery is flat or wont hold the charge SO do this.
Jump start engine again let it run for 2 minutes then turn on lights,, the head lights should go bright at 13.5 volts. it engine cuts out..and the lights dont go bright,, then the Alternator is not charging,,,, If they go bright and still cuts out the batterys NO GOOD.
Replace battery or get it checked outit must hold 12volts all the time Let me know how you get on.

Battery light comes on and stays on

Does it have a brand new alternator and battery? It definetly sounds like an alternator. Look for shorts and check the power cables connections and ground.
