SOURCE: water pump replacement in a 2002 Mazda MPV

The reason is the water pump is driven off the timing belt, extra parts and allot more labor. No the eng does not have to be removed, labor time around 4 hours, parts about, about $125 US for parts, if it is a dealer add $75 US

You probably never cleaned the cooling system out.

If you have not get it done by pros.

It seems something is blocking the flow. If the water pump went bad you will know. Rarely ever heard a impeller breaks off like you think. The bearings and the seal break first.

Check and see also if the heater valve is working.

As for the over heating even new thermostats fail. Reverse flush is needed or the procan measure the pressure in the radiator cooling system and edetermine if there is a engine pressure problem. Tools and experience is the key in the game of diagnosis.

SOURCE: engine overheating

All i can think of is the thermostat is not opening. or you may have a clog somewhere preventing the flow. Check the T-stat and hoses and radiator ( for clogs) Good luck

I have a Mazda MPV 2003, i bought from japan, 7 months ago, this van was running well until two days ago, it stsrts and cut off, starts again and while driving it is losing power then it will speed up

Before any diagnostics, I would run a tank of gas with a bottle of fuel dryer and injector cleaner to ensure that the engine racing isn't resulting from moisture and clogged injectors.

Coolant leak

Only if you have to remove them to fix the leak. Make sure the leak isn't coming from the water pump, the reservoir, or from freeze plugs.
If it has overheated or is shooting water out of the tailpipe upon startup, you should have a mechanic do a pressure check.

2000 MAZDA MPV TURNS OVER BUT WONT START. RAN FINE YESTERDAY. GOT IT TO START TODAY AFTER HOLDING GAS PEDAL DOWN BUT NOW ITS PUTTING OUT.

Sounds like you possibly got bad gas, or your at the bottom level of your gas tank and got the nasty stuff. Try running a good fuel treatment through the system and fill it up with premium gasoline from Marathon

I filled up my 2002 Mazda MPV yesterday at Walmart, Manning

Could be bad gas, water in the gas? Run the tank down to about 1/4 and put gas from somewhere else in it. Maybe higher octane for one tank full. Maybe put an additive in with it. If it clears up, then it was the gas.

How do i drain the fuel tank on 2001 mazda mpv

Why was this suggested? Did water get in it or another substance? If it's just been sitting in a safe place and it runs fine u should be ok. Go get some gas treatment and put it in there.

4 WD clunking and clicking sound when turning left or right

Sounds like the front drive axles are worn.My 89 MPV had the same "clicling" noise with an occasional clunk. The reason you feel it more in 4wd mode is because power is now being transfered thru the worn axles. I replaced both sides for approx $375(Axles rebuilt were 130 for drivers side and 110 for passenger side the rest was labor)
