    do u have the security code? if not u must get it from the dealer, it is a security code and for that reason is not published to the internet, that would defeat the purpose..

The code for my 97 volvo 850 t5 is on the inside of my fuel door along with tire pressure specs. It is a 4 digit number and is not specified as to what it pertains to... But it matches the code i have to use to unlock radio

Go to your local volvo dealership, and you must have the car in your name, but ask one of the mechanics if you can have the code for your radio, they'll look it up and give it to you I believe.

If you mean the radio activation code, you should try looking in your owner's manual, if someone wrote it down like they should.

If not, then you need to find a place that sells that brand of radio, and have them change it and give you the new code. They can't give you the old one.

You will need to turn the ignition to the number 1 position and turn the radio on. It can take several hours, but the word code should come back on. When that happens, you will need to put the correct code in. If you don't have it, a Volvo dealer can give you the correct code from your VIN.

I'd be taking the dash apart looking for burnt wires in a harness, so you will likely have to take the outer cover off some of the bundles. Start tracing back from the plug in for the radio. Hope this helps.
