Sounds like either the camber or caster is off on your alignment or possable you got your steering gear box adjustment too tight .. this will cause it to not return to center.. thanks and holler if you have more..

Hi there my car is a polo classic model 2005 m having a problem of the there steering light i try to put the steering oil but still is there please help.

Try this..... Put key into ignition and turn so lights come on (facia).. Do not start car... Turn the steering wheel left to right 90° approx a few times. This will be quite hard to do.
Then turn off ign and restart as normal.
If steering wheel light has gone out and steering is working you will need a new motor drive at some point.
Note.. Sometimes the fuse blows so check fusebox and replace if necessary.

I hit a retaining wall with the right tire on my older craftsman rider and now the right wheel doesn’t respond to steering....the left wheel is fine. Any ideas?

You'll need to get in and have a Good look at the front suspension and linkages. Each side is a mirror image of the other so use the side that is working as a comparison. It sounds like you might have broken a steering linkage. It might be easier if you can safely raise the front end off the ground and support It on axle stands. Remove the front wheels. Get someone to gently turn the steering from fully left to fully right and back again a few times. While they do this compare the left and right sides. You should see something that isn't connected or not moving compared to the working side.

99 ford ranger when turning have a vibration in steering wheel rebuilt front end and still does it brand new tires so it anit that drives fine just when turning has a vibration

Eliminating steering linkages and tires as a possibility, the only things remaining to check are WHEEL BEARINGS (likely culprit on Ford trucks), brake rotors (cheap just to buy new ones and replace while servicing or replacing the wheel bearings), and loose or worn shock absorbers.

Rack pinion steering

There is a steering arm joining the two front wheels, if the tie rod ends have come loose it may result in only one wheel turning.

Bleed power steering on 2008 dodge avenger

to bleed power steering, with front wheels off ground slightly with front wheels pointing straight ahead.engine off. remove power steering filler cap.add power steering until fluid level stop dropping, wait couple minutes and wait, add fluid until level stay at full cold mark on power steering cap dip stick. dont over fill.when fluid level stop dropping, start vechicle, let it idle few minutes. see if fluid level drop if so add more fluid full cold mark.then turn steering all the way to left and right with out hitting a stop.turn steering wheel several times, then turn front wheels pointing forward check power steering fluid level.if power steering fluid level stop dropping air should be out of system, if steering turning wheel dont turn smoothly and power steering fluid look light tan color air getting in the system.check all power steering lines to rack and power steering pump for leaks.be sure you replaced all the power steering lines with new o rings if not you will get a leak.if you find a leak, you need to fix the leak and bleed system again.dont drive vechicle if your steering dont feel right, have vechicle towed to a garage.

I have a daewoo nabira 2000 lately i have had a problem, when i turn hard left the car wants to keep going around to left, the steering wheel doe'snt come back by itself and manually have steer it...

  • You need to jack the front end up and inspect it. You have something hanging up. A tie rod might be sticking/grabbing on something. Check the stabilizer bar good too. When you have the front end up grab the tie rod and move it from one side to other and check for any sloppy play. Make sure to have the vehicle secured with bricks behind the rear wheels and the entire front end on jack stands when doing this for safety purposes and also so someone can turn the steering wheel while you inspect things. You have a hangup, front end damage you can't see or the power steering is going out. Having the problem focused during turning one direction only I am thinking it's a hang up. Keep me up to sped on your progress so I can further assist.

How do I align the steering after I replace the steering gear box so I have equal rotations on the steering wheel from left to right on a 1992 chevy astro van?

with the front of the vehicle raised in the air (with jack stands underneath), turn your steering wheel lock to lock, counting how many times the steering wheel does one complete rotation..........halve this number and rotate the steering wheel the opposite way...this will be the approximate middle of the steering rack movement

One important ppoint to note that not all items are built exactly, so you will require a wheel alignment after any change in steering or suspension components to be sure that everything is running true and correct
