SOURCE: 4 and 5 speed tranny for corolla 2e

When looking for a "faster" transmission you need to check the actual individual gear ratios of each gearbox and match anticipated rpm to available peak torque of the engine. This gets a bit complicated but likely if you speak with anyone who drag races a similar vehicle they can hook you up with charts & formulas. As far as top speed goes, that's all determined by your engine and differential/tire combination as all units are 1:1 in fourth gear (fifth gear is overdrive and may give you slightly more top end) For a street car, there are far easier ways of wringing out a bit more performance.

SOURCE: i need to locate the Tranny fluid drain plug on my

If it is an automatic than there is no drain plug for the transmission. You will need to drop the pan and drain the fluid this way. If it is a standard then the drain plug will be on the bottom of the transmission. It will most likely be a 3/8 allen bit. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Cannot locate position in motor to replace gear box oil; in 1993 5 gear manual toyota celica

  • You don't have a dip stick on this car. You have to go underneath the car and on the transmission you will see two plugs, one on top of the other. The one on top is the fill. The one on the bottom is the drain plug.

  1. To fill it you need a funnel with a hose on it.
  2. Remove the fill plug (top) and fill the transmission just until the gear lube barely seeps out and replug it.
  3. This is now the properly filled.
  4. Plug the fill hole back up.

  1. If you get a container and put it under the drain plug on the transmission and pull the top fill plug FIRST and then the bottom drain plug and let all the gear lube run out.
  2. Now plug the drain hole and fill the transmission till it seeps out.
  3. Now plug the fill hole.
  4. You just did a transmission flush on your vehicle and saved yourself $75usd shop charge.

I was wondering how do i check the transmission fluid on my 98 toyota carolla? it is a 5 speed manual transmission.

Find the fill hole up on the side. It will probably be a 3/4 pipe plug. Remove the plug and stick your finger inside. If you touch oil, you are ok. If you don't touch oil, you will have to pump it in with a special pump. Use 80 or 120 weight oil or what ever Toyota tells yo to do.

The very best way to get this done is have the mechanic check it at your next oil change.

How do u fill the tranny differential on a 1996 toyota corolla?

It depends on if have you have a 3 speed automatic, 4 speed automatic, or a manual transmission.

The 4 speed and manual tranny share their fluid with the differential so if you fill the tranny you fill the differential at the same time.

The 3 speed differential does not share its fluid with the tranny. To fill or check the fluid on the 3 speed automatic you will need to get underneath the car. The fill bolt faces the firewall side of the transmission. It is about 4 inches above the differential drain plug. You will need a fluid pump and hose to get the fluid into the fill hole. The fluid you will need is Dexron tranny fluid.

Location of drain plug, fill plug and correct oil level plug for 5 speed manual transmission

I don't know if there is a fill plug. I just use the level plug located on driver's side right above the inner CV joint of the half-shaft (axle) to fill it. A piece of flexible tubing connected to a funnel works well. The drain plug is fairly near the center of the bottom of the gearbox housing (behind the bell housing). The level plug has a 24mm, fairly flat, hex head, and the drain plug is a recessed plug with a 3/8" (?) square hole (for a socket handle).
