check the door jamb sensors and the hood and trunk open sensors one could be bad causing thr security system to engage are all of the doors locking when you press the lock does it say trunk ajar? ckeck under the hood as well because if the car thinks the hood is open the security may trigger also because thieves can pop the hood anddisconect the battery so some cars have a hood pop sensor they should look like a little.black button somewhere near the front
You have to replace the latch of your trunk. The contact is in the latch and most of the time you have to change the wire and the connector because they are oxided and make a resistance.
If I remember well you cannot remove any fuse to solve your problem because the fuse will affect some interior lamps and door lock system.
Unless you've wrecked the remote by physical damage or by immersing it, likely the remote battery is dead. I have a 2005 passat and the remote takes a single cr2032 3v battery.
Gently pry the remote in half on the "non-button" side carefully with a knife or fine screwdriver to separate the key from the buttons, then the part with the bottons on it again can be carefully pried in half to expose the battery. Be careful with it - everything is plastic and a new remote is expensive.
The battery hold down bolt is on the right front lower corner of the battery. You will probably have to take off the cowl plastic vent panel, but remove the windshield wipers first. If it is a factory battery , it will be heavy lifting it out from that position. I am repairing the front of a 2003 Passat in my shop now. Good luck!
the easiest way is to pop the bonnet.when its open the alarm wont arm.i just mean release it not fully open it.the problem is caused by a leak through the pollen filter housing .if you want to fix it remove housing and seal with dumdum or similar sealer.then you will need to lift carpet to dry out.
