Is this a major fix should I have towed to dealer Taking out mortgage on my residence first.

Have just p/u an 03 Tiburon that has been sitting for about 3 years now. Battery was dead so I replaced it. Car will not turn over when clutch is depressed as well drivers door will not open even though lock works using remote but only partially opens using key. Drivers window will not come down using inside door panel button but passengers works fine on either door. Just curious do these cars have to be cycled with one of the door locks similar to lets say newer Jeeps.

Driver's power window problem could be the control switch itself, or the motor has stalled (if only stalled, a simple 'SHOCK' to the motor can get it working again). With the driver's door window switch held in up or down position (depending wether window is UP or DOWN), momentarily HIT the interior door panel at the arm rest 'INWARD' (not too much force... just a SHOCK) you don't want to break the door panel. If this doesn't work, you'll need to gaIs this a major fix should I have towed to dealer - 3595015.jpgo the moIs this a major fix should I have towed to dealer - 8bc893e.jpgonnector to see if power & ground are present at the window motor connector pins.3595015.jpg8bc893e.jpg

My 2004 Tiburon GT will not unlock with the remote. When I use my key in the door my anti-theft goes off and I cannot start my car. I have replaced the remote battery and disconnected the battery terminals...

you can get it to crank but you just won't be able to use the keyless function without going back to the dealer first locate the ecu fuse in the fusebox under the dash, pull it out but don't put it down. Next put your key in the ignition and start turning over the motor, now the car won't crank or push oil through the motor with the ecu deactivated so don't hold it for too long. Now as your turning the motor over, reinsert the ecu fuse. The car will fire to life...you will have essentially reflashed your ecu so people with tuned ecu's beware. Your keyless won't work but hey at least now you can drive to get it fixed...as for the naysayers, yes I tried this on my tiburon and it still works fine so don't worry...good luck

2003 hyundai tiburon won't start, (key shape light comes on)

The key icon is not the check engine light but the immobilizer light, therefore the car wont start. I have the same issue with my 03 Tiburon after i changed the motor and tranny. It ran fine for a couple of days and the quit.
I took towed the car to a dealership and they stated I needed a new BCM for $1200. However, I got a used BCM from an auto wrecker and will get the dealership to program it for about $200.

2003 Tiburon GT Remote Key

Seriously don't use the factory alarm system / keyless entry.

While my car was under warranty, the alarm malfunctioned and it wouldn't disarm. The solution was to have the car towed to a dealership and install a new BCM. This would have cost me over $1,000 - and it's not an isolated case.

Don't get a Hyundai key fob. Have an after market alarm / keyless entry installed. It will be cheaper & easier.
