ON most disc rotors the minimum thickness is cast into the body of the rotor and will read min thickness and a dimension. The dimension is also available in the workshop manuals and from the service department of your vehicle. Do not be surprised if you find that your dimensions are almost at do not machine limits as original rotors are not much thicker than the low limit.

Each brake rotor has the minimum thickness marked on the rotor. Keep in mind also that the comparative thickness of each side of a vented rotor must be considered. Even if the overall thickness is greater than the minimum, each side must be within .040" (1mm) of the other.

Minimum rotor thickness

I don't know the min thickness, but I have an outback just like yours and if there is a problem with uneven rotors it's usually cheaper and easier to buy aftermarket at NAPA auto or other supplier (shop around) and trash the old rotors. If the rotors can be turned then keep them for the next brake job and use them then. Outbacks are easy to do about 30 min a side rotor and pads after the wheel is off, just did mine.

350z Rotors need to be cut at only 10K miles

Your rotors should be fine but it also depends on who turned the rotors and how they were done.Considering the dealer replaced the pads they probably used a metallic pad which have been known to be a noisy .Id suggest you have a repair shop resurface your rotors again and install some ceramic brake pads.

Car shimmies when appling brakes at over 40 mph

your brake rotors are warped, if your vehicle is equipped with rear drum brakes have them cleaned and adjusted to keep your front brakes from working too hard and becoming warped, also replacing the front rotors is better than resurfacing them because after bieng resurfaced they are thinner and are more prone to becoming warped again
