Rear wiper Ford Explorer 1998 won't work. Replaced motor and then found there was no power to connector at wiper motor. Fuses good both on fuse panel and power distribution box. Washer on wiper arm works.

Look for the fuse for the rear wiper motor is a 15 amp mini-fuse , in location # 8 of your POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX in the engine compartment. Check in the PD BOX for; - relay # 8 is the rear wiper down relay , and - relay # 10 is the rear wiper up relay .

I had this problem, and I did everything from the fuse to checking out the wiring ( I was in the loom anyhow for a different wiring issue) and none of that was the solution. What turned out to be the solution was an easy fix. I went to the switch on the dash, took it out and used electrical cleaner and cleaned it. There was small amounts of corrosion on the switch making it so that there wasn't enough voltage making it through to activate the GEM for the rear wiper. Once cleaned, worked perfectly.

1999 Ford Explorer no power windows, dome lights, blower motor don't work and wipers work when they want

Hello. It seems your Ford has a faulty master switch in the door panels (for the windows), a faulty door jamb switches (for the dome light), a malfunctioning multifunction switch (for the turn signal/windshield wipers). Good luck and keep me informed; if you want to.

Rear wiper, rear defroster & rear wiper fluid all stopped working at the same time. bought a new rear wiper motor installed it and nothing... anyone having or had the same problem in the past?

Check fuse panel ...if fuses for those rear devices are OK look at the wiring at the rear hatch. Possibly inside that door, or a ground condition that is not functioning or disconnected connector related to electrical devices in the rear hatch door.
Good luck!

Fuse Panel iagramfordcontourlx1

use a test light with the circuits turned on as some fuse won`t show being good unless the circuit is on to send power through the fuse.if the fuses are good then run a separate ground wire to the wiper motor and make sure you have a good connection at both ends.if it starts to work then you will have to connect a ground wire to the wiper motor.if it doesn`t work then you can tap the motor with a small hammer with it turned on if it starts to work then the motor will have to be replaced as there is an internal problem with it,

I have a 1998 ford explorer xlt turned wipers on last night they went half way up and now wont turn on.what can the problem be?

check to ensure the fuses are good first. also try and move the wipers on the outside with your hand while turning them on inside. if they move down and stop again the motor could be bad. checking for proper power and grounds is essentially in any good diagnostic, but wiring diagrams or a good understanding of how it works are needed for proper testing and diagnostics. More then likely the wiper motor may have given out. however in some cases the linkage or wiper transmission can let go from the motor so check to see if you hear the motor running with no wiper action. i hope this will help you

99 olds bravada rear wiper not working

Check for power to your rear wiper motor. To do this you will have to remove the rear door trim. Once the door trim is removed check for power at your connector plug on the rear wiper motor with switch on. If there is power there than replace motor if not then start by checking fuses (which is a good idea to do before removing door panel because it's the easiest thing to check), connectors and wiring for damage and open circuit( cuts or broken pins in connectors or open/broken wiring)

I think i have a blown fuse

This could be a little bothersome but pull one at a time and you will eventually find the bad one. Make sure to use the same amperage.

Rear wiper does not work at all. front wipers work fine. rear washer works

1. check the fuse to the rear wiper motor
2. check for power to rear wiper motor at the motor (power wire going in to the wiper motor with rear wiper switch on)
If you have good fuses & have power going in to the rear wiper motor...
3. Pull old rear wiper motor and install a new rear wiper motor.
Thank you please drive thru......

check for power at the wiper motor. If power at the wiper motor but no wiper action then replace the motor. if no power at the motor then use a jumper wire and put power to the motor. Does motor run? if so check for open circuit in the wire someplace.
