The "buzzing noise"; I can tell that I am not alone in having this problem but has someone figured out ... I fit does, that eliminates the brake rotors, tires, wheelbearings, CV's etc. ... BUT with an Altima it is probable the pre-cats. Loud humming noise when driving

Is the clicking sound coming from engine itself or when turning left or right?

This is hard to answer without hearing the noise, a 2005 altima it would have to have alot of miles or have been drinen hard to need a motor mount, the compressor could be noisey or may be a loose heat sheild on the exhaust,a squeal noise would be a belt a rattle noise could be a pulley going bad or something loose, when ac is on it puts more strain on engine causing things to shake,i would have a second shop just look at it before doing anything, see if they both come up with the same problem, and dont tell them what the other shop told you about the mount, tell them only after they tell you its something else.

you call it the serpentine belt, we call it the fanbelt.it,needs tightening,slightly loosen the alternator, then pull away from engine and tighten belt, tight enough when you can move longest part of the belt, between pulleys, 1/2 inch in/out.
if squeel re occurs fit new belt.

Could be the bearings in your alternator have gone dry and your alternator is about to quit out on you. I had a friend with an 01 altima and we could always hear him coming before we saw him because of this very problem. Changed the alternator out and noise went away. Thanks for using FixYa!

Is there a clicking sound? The first thing that I would check is to make sure that the starter motor is getting voltage. If it is getting voltage then I would say that the motor is bad and needs to be replaced. If it is not getting voltage then it could be a bad fuse, relay, or a bad ground. All of these are probabilities. The last thing that I would check for is a bad ignition switch especially since the accessories come on.

When you put your A/C on, there is Vacum Motor or Solonoide, that increases RPM of the Engine to compensate the load of an A/C. If the vacum hose is leaking or raptured the RPM of Engine remain low and Engine Shakes. When you put the A/C on and the RPM of Engine Increases, but a little, then your Selonoide is working but not adjusted properly, so adjust it for the proper RPM of the Engine. Put all the loads on, I mean Head Lights and A/C on and then ajust the RPM.

your cv joint is bad. Instead of fixing the cv joint it is actually easier and cheaper to have or replace the entire axle your self. Because it comes with a cv joint and you get a new axle also.

i had the same issue had the alternator replaced and their is no longer a noise.

it could be the valve lash, try an oil change.
