Trunk release for 2000 mercedes s 430 not working properly

Trunk has always worked fine and now the only way to open it is to slide the valet key out of the remote keyless entry and stick the key in the key hole in the trunk... if you close the trunk and press either the trunk button on my keyless entry or the trunk button in the car... nothing happens... just a little hissing noise comes from the trunk if you listen closely... this model car has mechanism assist on all the doors and trunk AKA if you close any one of doors or trunk lightly, the mechanism pulls the door or trunk closed tight... its a convienience feature i guess... so no when you open the trunk with the key and close it, it no longer pulls the trunk in tight it just makes another hissing noise.... the car has an airmatic suspension and i assume the the doors and trunk also use an air system to assist in closing the doors tight and im sure thats why the trunk is making that hissing sound.... all the doors still work perfect.... it just the trunk is the issue... is this air leak issue, maybe the air hose for the trunk has a leak or is it the entire mechanical part of the release???

Only opens manually, will not open with fob or button on inside of car. Trunk closes with pump latching it but nothing happens when I try the fob, no motor or pump sound at all. Is this a fuse issue or a motor or leak in some line somewhere?

Trunk can be lock separate from the doors valet try unlocking the trunk with the key lock it with the door.Read the owner manual it will tell you about valet parking.

Trunk opening is controlled by a black disc about two inches in diameter. If it seperates air is released. Little plastic clips on the side hold it together; the clips break.

Valet key will not open door or trunk

not sure about the door... but a valet key is just that. it should allow a 'valet', person other than you, to drive your car without having access to any storage areas. therefore you can lock valuables in the trunk. the system should also disable any electronic trunk switches with that key in the ignition.

2000 s500mercedea cant get in the trunk the battery daed key dont work

I had the same problem, I had to call AAA and was shown the very simple solution. The remote used to start the car had the key included to manually open the doors and trunk. It is located at the bottom portion of the remote, just slide the lever forward to release the key which will unlock the doors and the trunk manually

Trunk qill not open

Your trunk lock actuator is probably in valet mode. Take the mechanical key out of your smart key(should have a release button on the bottom of the key which will allow you to slide the hidden mechanical key out of the plastic housing) insert it into your trunk lock actuator and turn to change your function of trunk actuator. In the valet mode the trunk does not respond to your central locking or release button commands. Your owner's manual will tell you about these features. I hope I have been helpful
