Loosen the nut at the bottom of the blades so that the wiper motor will work without moving the blades. cycle the wipers and allow the motor to come to the rest position. Fit the blades and tension the nut. Pull the arms off the windscreen and cycle the wiper motor to run until it stops put the wipers back on the screen and see where they are. IF parked properly then OK but if any where then replace the wiper motor as the sequencing gear inside is out of sync with the wiper action.

SOURCE: 1990 GMC Sierra 1500 pickup. Windshield wipers, Cruise Control

May want to look at replacing the wiper circuit board. It is located on the firewall adjacent to the wiper motor and has a some what square black cover with 3 torx screws and wireing harness pluged into the side.We had a truck that every time you washed it the wipers would stay on until it dryed out.You can try removing it and spaying it down with contact cleaner just watch the brease on the two contact tips.Well hope this helps.

I put a new wiper motor and washer on my 1978 El Camino. They come on and work fine but won't turn off. could this be the switch or relay somewhere?

hi David.
this is all i could find out.
The fuse is the safety device that breaks the electric circuit if it exceeds the safe level. If your fuse blows then there will be no way to stop the electricity from reaching the windshield wipers. This will cause your wipers to constantly keep going. ... You can easily tighten it and the wiper problem should be resolved.26 Feb 2013

Windshield wipers stop whenever and wherever they want to.

This is the park switch in the motor, try prising the top off the motor gently, it will only come off so far as wires will stop you, clean grease away from micro switch then spray with wd40.
if this fails new motor I am afraid

Replace cabin pollen filter 2005 jaguar xkr

To get to the cabin air filter on an XK8 or XKR, you have to do the following steps (I know these steps sound ridiculous...as in many cars there is just a simple cover in the engine compartment... but...): The air filter is under the black plastic cowl or plenum that is just under the windshield wiper blade connectors. To get to that, you must 1. carefully lift off the plastic covers that reveal screw heads. Remove the screws. 2. lift off the plastic covers that are on the top of each windshield wiper connector - under the cover you will then see a nut or bolt that has to be unscrewed. 3. Using a small puller (the puller that lifts off battery terminals works for this) lift off each windshield wiper and disconnect the rubber hose from each. 3. lift the car's front hood, and remove the plastic cowling (you also have to lift the side rubber runners and a rubber strap from each side that holds up the rubber drain hoses). Once you remove that plastic cowling, you will see the air filter plenum at the back of the engine area. The air filter should come vertically out of that. (This air filter does not exist on my 2000 and earlier editions...I am not sure what year Jaguar installed them.) Full instructions are on the Jaguar JTIS CD which you should obtain...look online for that.
