Van slipped out and back in gear, started to run rough, and all guages went blank

Can be anything.Can be bearing noise.Has ut got oil in engine.

Doesn't sound good Al. Check your engine oil level and make sure it is ok. Could have had a rod bearing seize and fubar the whole engine. Oil puddle under van? Squeaking related but without hearing noise is a tough one. I have heard engines that are on the verge of seizing up to squeak as the bearings seize up and then finally just freeze and seize together. On a lighter note the vans are also prone to having the PCV hose at the back of the intake manifold fall apart and deteriorate. Odd noises have emanated from this sometimes very large vacuum leak that is created. Squeaks, Whistles, etc. If oil was in the hose at time of rupture then oil would have dumped onto the rear exhaust manifold that may have created this smoke from under the hood. You can find more information on this hose at mpvclub. If the engine still cranks over normally but will not start or starts and dies then can rule out the engine damage. The squeaks from this problem are a death call and engine will just not turn over at all.

im going to say an almost dead battery .the hum you hear might be the fuel pump.you never heard it before because the van normaly starts .so boost your van if it starts you may have to replace the altenator the guages, no worries many cars do that .thats a code needing erased and if you disconnect the battery that may go away.

check the fuses make sure none of them blew and if its not that then its proble a bad alternator, witch caused the ripple effect when one thing goes on a newer car no matter how small it will trigger a bunch of random events such as transmission not going into gear, i assume its a automatic i highly dought that the tps went with the low voltage, and if your hearing a clicking noise its either not enough juice going to the starter, or a coil wire popped off

my van is doing the same exact thing but the othe day it was perfectly fine no slipping i went about 25 miles and i started off from a stop the engine rev and tranny slipped and the van died i restarted the van it runs great but acts as if there is no transmisson does not take power frm ngine when shfted does nothing please help

SOUND LIKE FUEL GAUGE IS FAULTY.IF YOU REPLACED FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY WITH NEW FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT.PROBLEM IS IN THE GAUGES.

remove dog house locate test port and install guage should be 45-60 psi

what happened sound very much like either you slipped a tooth on the timing belt/chain or the it broke. the first clue is the back fire, and then the no start. your going to have to take the cover off the timing chain to see if this is the case. i would imagine that if it isn't broke but it doesn't start then it slip the gear. if you have not done this kind of work then i suggest find a friend to help or take to a good shop

YOu should be able to tell if coolant leaks caused the coil pack to fail. I believe it is 2 issues.
