Engine outline in orange on dash display. Filled car with gas and parked on a steep facing upwards for a few minutes. When I returned and turned car on gas gage did not work. Needle goes all the way right past full and doesnt move. How expensive and how difficult to fix?
Probably not all that difficult to fix it you have patience. The needle going way past full is an indication of a short before the sender unit or in the sender unit. Pull the power wire from the sender unit and see what the gauge does. IT should stay on the empty mark. IT may be just a fuel sender unit .

It sounds like a change over valve is faulty. U have 2 check over valves 1 on each side of rear wheel wells. Also a change over valve that switches 1 tank to other. I recomend replacing all 3 valves for peace of mind,because when 1 goes the others follow. Hope this is helpful!

My throttle body problem was diagnosed by the local Jaguar dealer (Barrett Jaguar in San Antonio, TX). They wanted $1200 to fix it. I had read on the internet that the throttle body should be cleaned out first because that could be the problem. When I asked them if they could clean it first to see if that is what is wront they told me that it would not do any good. It was an electronic problem and the whole thing needed replacing. I had my brother-in-law who is a mechanic clean it out for us and reinstall it. We have had no more problems. Can you believe I got a coupon in the mail yesterday from Barret Jaguar for a $143.50 throttle body cleaning special!!!!!! Liars all of them! Don't trust your dealer to tell you the truth! They just want as much money as they can **** out of you.
