The cam gear can fit in two position on the camshaft what is the right position

Standing in front of the car, #1 piston is the front one on your left. All odd number pistons are on this side and all even number pistons are on your right, front to back.
When you are lining this all up make sure your #1 piston is in the proper position to the crank. Check the position of your rotor button in the distributor. It should be lined up to #1, which is about 8:30 on a clock.Then turn the engine by hand past TDC and make sure the exhaust valve starts to open. The crankchaft turns twice to every one turn of the camshaft so it is possible for your timing to look right but not work. Hope this helps.

A gear puller will be required to remove the crankshaft gear.

Install a retaining clip on the tensioner to hold plunger IN during installation.

Position the crankshaft using the special tool. Then remove the tool.

Install the crankshaft sprocket with flange facing forward.

Position the left timing chain on the camshaft sprocket. The timing mark on the camshaft sprocket must be aligned between the 2 copper (or marked) chain links.

Position lower end of right (outer) timing chain on the crankshaft sprocket. Align the copper (or marked) chain link with the timing mark on the outer flange of the crankshaft pulley.

Align the chalk mark on the balance shaft with the camshaft timing mark.
