Battery drain on 30a fuel injector fuse 99 ford escort

1-2 amp power drain from the 30a Fuel Injector Fuse located in engine compartment. When engine is OFF I hear a High pitch whinning noise that gradually gets louder that is coming from around the engine. Noise goes away when I unplug the Fuel Injector fuse 30a. Also While engine is running it will idle erratically then smooth then lope again. Also while driving it will lope while hitting the accellerator or at steady speed. Think this is related cause it happened at same time as battery drain issue. Help?

The power through the fuse is to the fuel pump, this only runs long enough to pressure the fuel behind the injectors so that when they open the fuel is an high pressure. So you will normally hear it when you put the key in and turn it, before you start the engine, and then while driving it will be on. Your fuel pump is running longer than usual, because the fuel is not getting up to sufficient pressure. This would also account for the poor running. If you do not have fuel leaking all over the floor, the first thing to replace is the fuel filter. These get dirty over time, especially if you ran the tank dry in recent months. If its blocked the fuel pump tries hard to suck fuel from the tank through it and fails.

SOURCE: 2004 Ford Focus ZTS engine whine/ noise

The exhaust system on this vehicle has to be able to flex or it would crack at one of the joints, so it has hangers with rubber bushings to hold it into place and still be able to flex with the engine. Now grant it one of these bushings may have come loose or one of the hangers may have broke but I would be concerned about the thumping of the exhaust against the floor board. This could be caused by a broken motor mount letting the engine flex to much. I would suggest having someone inspect these.

SOURCE: Ford Freestar High pitch Whinning noise when

To me it sounds like the wheel bearing. I have the same issue and when checking around it came back to the bearing which is a 279.00 assembly. The is also a recall affecting 2004 Ford Freestars with the hub you may want to check google to get the number to contact Ford then you get the whole thing replaced for free.

Shorted out one of the fuel injector wires, and now my fuel pump isn't working, checked the fuses, none are blown, any ideas, other fuses or fuse link?thanks,

The fuel injectors receive their power from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Power Relay which is located in the Engine Compartment Fuse Box. This circuit is protected by Fuse "I" (20 Amp), also located in the Engine Compartment Fuse Box. If you blew a fuse, this would be the one.
The fuel pump, however, is a totally different circuit. (although it is controlled by the PCM which will not work if the fuse above is blown) The fuel pump gets its power from the fuel pump relay which is protected by Fuse "O" (20 Amp) in the Engine Compartment Relay Box.

Power source for ecm and destination of efi fuse for ford mondeo 2.0 16v mk 1 zetec south african make and a pin layout of ecm

Hello! The ZETEC engine was used in the 1999 Ford Escort...I do not know what year your vehicle is, however the pin layouts are the same...

The Fuel Injector Fuse (30A) feeds the injectors via normally open contacts of the PCM Power Relay on a Red/White wire (which becomes Red at the injectors) on pin #12 of the Constant Control Module...
The wire colors of injector control leads (at the injectors) are..#3=Brown/Yellow...#1=Tan...#4=Brown/Light Blue...And #2=White

Wire colors at the PCM plug are...#3=Brown/White (pin 74)...#1=Yellow (pin 75...#4=Green/Orange (pin100)...and #2=Violet/Yellow (pin 103)...

Size restrictions on attachments do not allow me to send the entire PCM...aka...ECM pin layout to you...

No power to fuel injectors

Determin if the injector operating:
  1. disconnect the injector electrical connector and measure the resistance of each injector with an ohmmeter. Compare the measurement with the resistance value Specifications are 11 to 18 ohms.
  2. Replace any injector whose resistance value does not fall within the specifications.
If the injector was not operating but the resistance reading was within specifications, the PCM Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or the circuit to the injector may be faulty.

Check the ignition fuse located in the engine compartment fuse center. Also. check the fuel pump relay.
Note: The fuel pump relay is located behind the radio in the center of the instrument panel.

If the relays are good and the fuel pump does not operate. check the fuel pump circuit. If the wiring and the connectors are
good, replace the fuel pump.
