The 2000 Ford Explorer that has the 4.0 Liter engine, is an SOHC engine. Single OverHead Camshaft.
It has one camshaft sprocket, one camshaft chain, and one crankshaft sprocket.
The 2000 Ford Explorer that has the 4.6 Liter engine, is a DOHC engine. Dual OverHead Camshaft.
Two camshafts require two camshaft sprockets, and two camshaft chains. One cranshaft sprocket with two rows of teeth.
No sir, it is not true of the 2000 Ford 4.0 engine.
Absolutely NOT TRUE this vehicle has a timing chain, NOT a timing belt. It has a serpentine belt. Thanks for using FIX YA
Some may look to have 2 But they only have 1. On the 2000 for explorer its a chain instead of a belt. I wish they where belts beacuse then there would be no vibrations.
www.advanceauto.com also has diagrams of this if you are looking for them.
Good luck
