SOURCE: truck starts, dies. truck runs good some days, bad the next
I had the same problem with My 1990 F150 300 6cylinder 4x4.....I cahnged all the same things you did, finally I sprayed a can of Gumout through the throttle body and it worked and ran great. Now I add fuel injector cleaner to the gas and a regular clean with the gumout and the problem has'nt come back. Good Luck to you and hope it works!
SOURCE: 2000 F 250 WILL NOT START CRANKS OVER ONLY.
you should have the pcm scanned for dtc's... probably a bad crank or cam sensor
SOURCE: '03 F-350 7.3 Powerstroke cranks but doesn't start.
with out doing alot of testing
we have found alot of cam sensors going bad in the 7.3 powerstrokes
i just had one in last week with a new sensor that only lasted a month

Hi bud876 did you get a faulty block heater? if the cord and block heater are new it should work when energized double check for power, as far as glow plugs do they cycle? is the glow plug relay working properly?you would be a lot better going with a circulating heater rather than a block heater, hope this helps good luck
SOURCE: 87 f250 drained brand new battery
I would first have the alternator checked by an auto electrician to ensure it is working correctly and is providing the correct volume of current. It may be faulty and when driving you will be drawing battery power instead of power from the alternator to run the electrics. This will drain the battery.
Alternators do not last forever and if you are still running the original unit it is likely to be on it's last legs and you will need a replacement unit.
