Re: My window went down and would not come up. The 3...
The window rests in a track to guide it up and down. The window will fall of this track causing the window to stay down. You can probly grab the window and pull it up but it will not stay it needs to be put back on track. You can do this by pulling off the door panel and working the window back in place and pushing the track tight agiant the window and adjusting them as need be. If this starts happing alot it will need a new window motor and regulater.

Taking off the driver door panel to get at the window regulator motor controller and window clip. ... out ...
This sounds like the window is binding in the track. so as you try to get the window up the protect breaker in the motor has tripped and cools resets again and again until up. lower window part way with a light oil 3 in 1 drip down the window track on front and rear the roll up if goes easy repeat until it is easy all the way then applied vasoline to track. if this does not help then the cable window regulator is bad.
I've had something like this happen a couple of times.
The cure in both instances (and probably will be in yours) is the 'recalibration' of the window lift system.
It IS in the user handbook, but here is the procedure anyway.
1 Ensure the tail door is closed, the vehicle unlocked and the alarm disarmed. 2 On 3 door models, ensure the roof is on (hard back) or lowered and secured (soft back). 3 With the ignition on, use the console switch, or the vehicle key in the tail door lock, to raise the window until the motor stalls with the window fully closed.
(the holding the switch on until the motor 'stalls' is the key thing - you MUST allow the motor to stall)
4 Switch off the ignition.
If the calibration procedure is unsuccessful, the CCU will sound a warning for approximately 0.8 second and fully lower the window. Tail door window calibration can fail for the following reasons: l Window stops before minimum travel is achieved. l Window does not achieve a stall. l Window request removed before stall is achieved. l Tail door opened while driving window up.
You are just going to have to break down and buy some switches I believe. they are known for going out on that model. if you can find someone to test them at the switch to see if it is the switch or the motor that is what you need to do. most likley switches is most of the problem . thanks Jerry holler if you have more.
