Battery dead, doors won't open

The battery is dead on my 2007 dts and the doors are locked. I can not get the key to go in the door. I've tried wd40 but still can't get key to go in. Any suggestion on how I can get the doors open or is there a release on the hood from the outside? HELP

Two ways to do this. You can try to jump a good battery to your car so it would have voltage to unlock, connect the ground to any good frame contact or engine block, and the other hot end to the hot wire on the starter, this may involve crawling under the car. Another way is to gain access to the hood latch and try to manually get the latch to open, you might have to remove the grill. If you can't get the latch to unlock this way, you could just remove the bolts holding the latch on to the car, and lift hood latch and all. (watch out for your latch cable, as it would probably still be connected and hood won't raise much, but just enough to unlatch the latch.

SOURCE: fuel door and truck release fuse

I had the same problem last fall and had my mechanic check all fuses, he could not find the problem. Later my son was in the glove box and then I remembered the valet button disables the trunk and gas door so the person parking your car cannot snoop in your trunk or get to your gas cap. push the valet button in the glove box and see if you can release the trunk and gas door. Hope this works for you, it can be a pain opening the trunk every time you want to put gas in the car....good luck...........

SOURCE: How can I jumpstart or open the hood

You can use a wood wedge to pry the top of the driver or passenger door open 1/2 to 1 inch. Then use a stiff rod to reach in the opening and push the lock button open. I used this method to get my keys locked inside my EXT with no damage. Just be careful not to damage the paint.

SOURCE: no sound from radio / now car totally dead

Its you antenna module above your headliner. It controlls your remote for keyless entry as well as your am/fm reception via an amplifier. GM part number is 12233252 for updated and revised version around $100 bucks online.

SOURCE: 2005 Cadillac STS door problem

There is NOT a mechanical connection to the outside door handles on the front doors. There is an electronic "door popping solenoid" This is a electronic problem. I think there was a recall on this.

Chrysler Town and Country. How to get in with flat battery and open the hood?

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to category.

There are two ways.

Get under the engine and attach a car battery charger red lead to the heavy red wire on the starter, connect the black wire of the charger to any clean bare metal part. In 15 minutes, you will be able to open the doors.

Or, call a locksmith out.

How to open doors on 2000chevy malibu battery dead?

The outside door locks/trunk lock will most likely not work due to the key not being able to be inserted/turned in the lock cylinder due to lack of use. Spray WD40 into door lock cylinder using supplied straw and insert key until it goes all the way in using sawing motion. If lock cylinder still will not turn continue sawing motion with key while holding gentle turning pressure on the key. This will usually free up any sticky/seized lock cylinder wafers and allow the cylinder to turn

2001 Cadillc Deville DTS door lock stopped accepting key - no fob either!

I experienced the exact problem with my 2001 DTS. The solution that worked for me is as follows:
- spray some WD40 lubricant into the keylock
- work the key in and out of the lock assembly several times
- spray more WD40 lubricant into the keylock
- continue to work the key in and out of the lock assembly
- the key should eventually insert all the way into the lock and turn the lock assembly
I hope this works for you.

Won't open my door when I press unlock, key won't open door either

can you manually unlock the lock and open the door?? Is it more than one door or just one specific door? If its just one door, yourcactuator inside the door may be bad or you have a wire issue. If its all the doors, more than likely you blew a fuse or a relay(id say fuse)

Confusing dashboard symbols on 2007 DTS

The gas door flap may have a locking device that is wired to the central locking and keyless remote fob. Make sure all of the doors are unlocked and it should allow you to open the gas cap door.
