Accelerator stuck engine is accerating on its own up to 25 miles an hour. its a fight to keep car stopped any suggestions

Transmission band slipping.

Unless there is a check engine light on it's not a solenoid or electronic control issue, it's hydraulic or mechanical.
Try changing the fluid and use the correct Toyota specified fluid or equivalent, Valvoline MaxLife is a good substitute.
If the drained fluid has any metal particles or friction material it's sign of deeper problems.

Stop using any vehicle that has check lights on the dash
& is not working correctly & get it to a repair shop or dealer
to be properly diagnosed,so you don't do any damage to it
Spending tens of thousands of dollars for another vehicle that
will develop the same problems makes no sense
The Technology & Problems are here to stay
Dash light that go off have nothing to do with going to a shop
& them retrieving stored data

they are correct change the fuel filters

Check 4 spark plug of engine, check air filter

check air filter for dirty , how many miles or kms have your car? , maybe need to replace spark plugs, try to reset the ecu for a momentany malfunction, remove the negative battery terminal few minutes and reconnect,start engine and drive, check if lights goes off , please write me

Hi I am Vortash have seen this fault twice with a different reason each time .. first on was the cam sensor giving the wrong information to the Engine management Unit ... second one was the EMU itself the plug had become dirty and corroded and a clean solved the problem .. with the cam sensor ..was replaced and the fault cured .. The way I found the fault was with a fault code reader an invaluable tool that has saved me many hours of unnecessary work ... regards Vortash

I WOULD TAKE IT BACK TO MAKE SURE THE TIMING IS CORRECT I KNOW THAT IF IT IS OFF 1 TOOTH IT WOULD MAKE IT DO THIS PROBLEM

for the cheapest TEMPORARY solution get some fuel injector cleaner and get on the gas fo about 5 mile at like 100 - 120 miles an hour thats what idid to mine last week hasnt wanted to die out since. good luck.
