When my clutch is depressed my fiesta (2003 model) makes wurring chug sort of sound. This is new in the last 200miles. It only makes the sound when depressed half to full way down. i have recently fixed a slipping master cylinder arm and clutch lateral peg slipping with the ford clip. Holding fine and no slips since (1month now). No one is giving me a definitive idea as to what it could be. I will be taking to garage in 2 days and so would like to have an idea so i dont get fleeced. Thanks
It sounds like the throw out bearing is failing.
Sounds like the clutch is adjusted so it touches a little... not good.
The sound could also be from a burned out Throw-out Bearing. From the CarTalk web site:
"TOM: The second most common type of clutch failure is when the throw-out bearing (also called the release bearing) fails. That\'s the bearing that pushes the clutch plates apart when you push in the clutch pedal to change gears."
It makes a roaring sound when you push in the clutch pedal. Silent otherwise. Its a pain to replace, as you have to get the engine and transmission separated. Sometimes you have to pull the engine, sometimes the transmission, sometimes both!
That is why that work on the master cylinder and slave cylinder are so critical, and why proper adjustment is vital.
They will probably charge a lot, but its a lot of work. If they pull the engine or transmission, may as well get a new clutch and certainly a pilot bearing, too.
Then again, you may be lucky and its just a clearance adjustment in the clutch slave cylinder.

ITS THE MASTER CYLINDER AGAIN.More than likely they are using a re manufactured master cylinders. Get a new one from MOPAR-(CHRYSLER) that will take care of your problem. Trust me I have had the same problem with a similar vehicle in the past in my shop. Good Luck, thank for using FIX YA
SOURCE: Clutch Sometimes Slipping in 4th and 5th gears!
Hi Jackiaria
Unfortunately you have a hydraulic clutch, which is self adjusting on your car.
The problem you are experiencing is the excessive wear to your clutch, or oil contamination on the clutch plate.
Both these problems can only be fully diagnosed once the gearbox is removed and the clutch is inspected.
There is also a possibility of excessive wear, or scoring, on the flywheel surface, the longer you drive the vehicle with a slipping clutch, possibly requiring the flywheel to be skimmed.
Shop around for a best price, and a trustworthy garage !
Good Luck !
A FixYa rating would be Nice....Thanks.....John.
SOURCE: clutch
Ck for return spring at clutch lever. Check to see if spring pulls back slave cylinder rod by havung someone push the clutch pedal down and release as you watch it function below. Then open bleeder at slave and check for residual pressure. The rod at the master clutch cylinder may be adjustable, shortenten it so the cylinder is fully relealeased with little to no pedal pressure. Good Luck

Did your mechanic use a DRB III or equivalent scanner before performing the bleeding procedure after installing the master cylinder? This is a requirement by the manufacturer (Chrysler) when bleeding the brake system.
SOURCE: peugeot 106 1.5D. the clutch was slipping so new
Yes clutch pedal should start to drive about 1inch off the floor and when driving keep your foot away from the pedal,/ also when new clutch is fitted did they fit a complete clutch assy /and did they surface grind the flywheel as if it was badly worn on the 1st one then the new one wouldent last very long.
as when the clutch starts to drive 1" from the floor clutch is good /when it engages right out its buggered and slips so ask about the f/wheel
