Need help please my 2007 kia spectra fan stopped. I checked all fuses and all appear good. Any ideas

electronic coolant fans (radiator) are controlled by a temperature sensor in the cooling system. It in turns energizers a circuit in the ECM that activates a relay to allow power to the fan. To check the system you have to check that the relay is getting power from the ECM, that the sensor is actually operational and that both fuses are ok. Remember that the fan will not operate unless the coolant temperature is nearing the thermostat opening temperature (from 75 degrees F upwards)

Cooling fan relay switch located

look in an area close to the thermostat housing and/ or near the temperature gauge sender. IT will have a squarish looking connector with 2 wires attached.

I have 2002 Kia Spectra after engine shut down the fan motor is running so long that it draining the battery. It does not shut off before the temp gage is all most complety cooled down. Do you have any...

The fan should shut down after the radiator temperature is between 180-195 degrees. If yours is staying on way below this I would think you temp. sensor is stuck and keeping your fan on.

2004 Spectra: I need a diagram for fan belt installation for 200...

Hello and thank you for asking your question here on fixya.com.

I have actually written a general information article that will walk you through the general process of changing the fan belt on your
2004 Kia Spectra. It will also point you to the resources you need for getting the diagrams of how the belt needs to go back on. Belts usually cost less than $20 and take a few minutes to put them on.

Here is a link to that article:

2005 kia spectra over heating

Did you install a new thermostat and make sure to bleed all the air out of the system when you replaced the radiator? If you didn't, or installed a Stant thermostat, replace it with a FACTORY OEM thermostat. Make sure the cooling system is bled by opening your radiator cap (WHILE THE CAR IS OFF AND COLD), starting the car and running the heater. Add coolant to the radiator as the engine heats up, until is at normal operating temperature AND starts spitting coolant back out.

Hope this helps,
matt
