Before starting any repair work, it is advisable that you get the car scanned with an OBD scanner to get the trouble codes. Repairs should only begin after the code is interpreted. That is more cost effective and precise.
Few days ago my Son bought from a Fiat garage a second-hand Doblo (2002, diesel). The maintenance work was done at the garage before delivery the car. From the beginning an intermittent problem appeared: impossible to restart the car after having lef it unstarted from a moment (short or long does not change anything), after several retries can be started again. The mechanic guy of the garage tested the car with the electronic tooling but found nothing abnormal. Do you have any idea about what could be the cause ?
