Have a Subaru Impreza STI uk model, 2005, looking for which wire on the ECU controls Tachometer, lead to believe pin 34 on plug B135?, but everytime i find another document it says something else...... anyone know which one it is, or some "test" that i can do with a multi-meter to find out, thanks

yeah, i use royal purple, 5w-30 on my 05. i lose a fair amount of oil (2 big turbos). and also txcs99, are you sure it's the same motor? i thought they upgraded a little

Do you have a manual boost controller (mbc) installed? I have a 96 WRX and had the same problem and so took out the MBC. It now runs sweet. If you don't have one check the vacuum hoses from the turbo to the wastegate and also to the boost control solenoid, make sure they are tightened with cable ties or a hose clamp.  Also could be your spark plugs make sure you have iridium ones, they out perform any others.
