I have replaced both fuel pumps as well as filter. but still no power at high gears and speed, I can't get it to 50mph in 4th let alone 5th..... however i can squeal tires in 1st, 2nd and third. i don't understand. i do mud race this truck and the last time i blew the alternator, replaced it as well as the starter but still no power in high gears. before we replaced the pumps the front one was only measureing 30bls of output which told my mech that it was the pumps but nothing has changed. please any suggestion would be helpful.

try having the fuel filter changed first and have the timing checked and I don't know how many miles on the truck but check low or uneven cylinder compression pressure remove spark plugs and test the compression with a gauge but before doing all this it could be a weak or faulty ignition system

Well where to start. First of all you listed that the transmission won't shift from 1st to 2nd gear. This could be any number of things from internal oil leaks, bad sensors, valves, clutches and so on and so on. The problem is there is no way of telling you this is the problem or that is the problem with out performing tests such as taking pressure readings, stall tests and so on. Then we get to your description, having gears slam can also be caused by all the items listed above with the first issue. Losing all gears completely (I assume drive, overdrive, reverse, etc.) leads me to believe you have a major internal leak (assuming there isn't oil pouring onto the ground), a issue with the transmission pump or torque converter. Again there isn't anything you can do without taking pressure readings. And even with those readings you won't really know what your looking for without a complete understanding of how a automatic transmission works. Sorry I couldn't give you a straight forward easy answer. I would recommend taking your truck (assuming it will drive) to a shop that specializes in transmissions. I recommend a transmission shop because to me dealership labor rates are to high, and secondly I wouldn't take it to a general independent shop because you don't know if it will be an experienced transmission technician working on it or a "grease monkey" who will sell you things it dosen't need because he's just guessing what wrong with it.

Car is in limp in mode unless you have the tools to work on automatic transmission you will need to take it to a transmission shop. Of course you can check oil level but I suspect you have other issues.

sounds like the rockers or lifters have some play due to wear.you don`t say what rpm you are shifting at other than high rpm.by changing the oil you have increased the viscosity of the oil as its new and not dirty and thin and cold oil is thicker than warm oil.you might want to try a heavier oil to see if it helps.you may not get this noise out unless you replace components or adjustment of rockers if they are adjustable.if its not very bad you may have to live with it.
