Recently the car has not responded to the drive-by-wire throttle in a linear fashion. The response to depressing the throttle has been slow and there seems to be some surging. Tonight the MIL and both TCS lamps in the dash illuminated. I turned a corner to stop the car and investigate the problem. After turning the corner the engine would not provide power when I depressed the throttle. I pulled over to the curb and shut off the engine. When I restarted the engine the MIL and TCS lamps were not on and the car was normal (except that the drive-by-wire accelerator was acting odd again).
It sounds like a probem with the correlation of the throttle position sensor and the P.C,M, With the drive by wire system, throttle is no longer a command, but rather a request for throttle provided the P.C.M. gives the ok after taking readings from various sensors. this correlation for whatever reason goes wrong and often neds attention from the manufacturers mechanic for a relearn, which will relearn the throttles home position and correct the problem.

I have the same car. So far no problems with the Transmision. I had the Trans oil change out every 60 K
Sure sounds like you need to get the Transmision checked. Is the fault light on. I have invested ina fault code reader sure is worth it.
Good luck. Vilmos
