SOURCE: 92 honda accord intermittent crank but no start/ tranny issues

I know that early 90's Honda's had problems and in fact a recall on the distributor. Might want to replace the distributor. Inside of the distributor is a part called the igniter which is the ignition module and that is what normally goes out. I cannot remember if you have to replace the whole distributor to get the igniter or if you can just replace the igniter itself. Has been a few years since I have worked on one. hope this helps but if not please contact me. I'm not sure about the drive light flashing thing though, new one on me.

How to check a ignition coil pack to see if its good,

the coil does not crank the engine , the starter does that, sorry.
(if you ever had to hand or foot crank and engine , youd under stand that. (like motor cycles or boat engines, or per 30s cars.)

in fact will crank all day with no spark parts on car..

x2, the scan tool does tell you why there is NO STARTS, CRANKS OK. The pcm can detect, one missfire in 10 cmp;ckp signals.
  • CRANK FOR 5 SECONDS
  • release, key
  • scan tool has DTC errors?, read the believe them.
no engine stated of 4 or more,

U checked everything but spark,
why, check spark at all cylinders, all most fire or the engine will not run or stall.
That test be first, if not starting (AFTER SCAN TEST)

IF NO spark fuses are next , not last.
lets do no start fails tests. (cranks perfectly 200 to 300 rpm)
  1. : check fuses
  2. key on, CEL lamp must glow, if not , ECU fuse blown.
  3. crank with scan tool , see P03xx DTC errors, see RPM dead.?
  4. check for spark? got spark x4 or times number of cylinders?
  5. got spark try test fuel now, runs for 3 seconds?
  6. yes, runs on test fuel now means lost fueling
  7. no, dont run on test fuel, means, 1 to 5 done wrong above or engine compression bad.
  8. bad fueling, huge number of tests. check fuel pressure now.
confused, try a shop and watch them, learn.

My Honda Civic 2002 EX its manual, crank but won't start, check all light, battery, everything I can think of but won't start, what could be the cause.

There could be many things wrong but you will need to find out what trouble codes are set on it as any starting point.

Coil test 93 civic

on the HOT side you will get constant power, on the negative side you should get intermitent on-off with cranking the engine which tells me that all that part is working.. jump a spark to ground while cranking and it should jump a quarter inch gap easily with a strong spark.. if not replace the condensor if it has one or the distributor chip (meaning its got a weak spark)..good luck..

Car turn over but wont start

cranks , no start. classic.
no starts 99% factor.
is
1: engine compression weak or dead x4 (timing belt snapped?)
2: lost spark check spark, (google it 10000000 hits)
3: lost fuel ing, or its flooding.

if spark is good, and the spark tips are dry, try test fuel.
spray test fuel in to the induction path and see if engine
runs for 3 second/

My 2000 honda civic wont turn over and has no spark but the ignition coil and modual are both fine

Won't turn over? Do you mean the starter won't crank the engine over?

Or the engine cranks over and won't start, and you have tested for spark when cranking and have no spark? And then you have tested the coil and ignition module, and they tested out good? Am I on the right page here? If so, maybe the next thing to check would be the crank position sensor. The ecu (computer) signals the ignitor (ignition module) when to initiate spark after it digests the signals from the crank position sensor and the cam position sensor.

Engine will crank over but won't start

Alright, few things you need to do to make be able to pin point what is actually causing the engine not to start. Let see, first of all it could be a fuel pump promblem and for the civic's you can turn your key to the "on" but not starting it to see if you can hear a slight click from where your fuel pump is located which is in the backseat, if you can hear hiss then a slight click after turning your key to on after a few second, then your fuel pump is working. If not check out the fuel pump relay or any fuse pertaining to the fuel pump.  You can do this by switch to another fuse of the apropriate fuse amp. After so, and if the fuel pump cannot be heard with the click or hiss, then it could be your fuel pump.  Secondly if fuel pump is working, and still just cranking, then it could be your ignition coil. If the ignition coild is bad, it wouldn't send spark to the spark plug thus no combustion, and engine would only roll over. So to test this to see if your ignitionc coil is bad.... you can follow this link http://autorepair.about.com/od/troubleshooting/ss/coiltest-manual.htm showing you how to test your ignition coil. If you get no sparks, most likely it is your ignition coil and it will need to be replaced.

92 honda civic ex starts but won't stay running - replaced relay

well not completely sure but would suggest first giving it a shot of ether in the airbox to see if starts better. to rule out a fuel issue. then ck into distributor. have you ck'd it for spark? is it weak? is it possible the timing belt jumped time?
