Question about 2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE
Car want start and the battery light is on,I've changed the fuel filter, checked the anti-theft system and checked other problems that were listed in some of the other answers.I had just noticed the battery light was on.Also it turns over, but still want start.
I had the same thing happen to my 2001 Grand Am. Do this.......just key the key, but don't turn it over. Your Security Light should be blinking. Let it blink for about 10 to 15 minutes, it should stay on after that. When it stays on, turn the key and it should start. I still have to do this once every 3 the 4 months, some sort of security problem that cost to much money to fix.

Well Your solution worked for me. Got a 2001 Grand Am SE. Decided it wasn't going to start. Put key in, let security light blink for 10 min and it stopped. Turn the key and started like nothing was wrong.
Thank You Very Much!
