I was riding one day then car cut off and would not start right back up but after a while then it started only to stall again. I put a new fuel pump and fuel filter on and it acted like it was working ok then the same problem again. when it cuts off it has the smell of gas like its flooded. Please can you help me.... I was wondering if it needs a fuel regulator?

ignition coil over each cylinder but is it that that would make it stop like that or is it that I need to get a fuel regulator?
i changed the fuel filter on my '95 nissan maxima, it continues to want to shut off as i am driving. it gives revving surges without completely shutting off
Does your model have an ignition coil connected to a distributor? or does your model have a direct ignition coil on top of each cylinder? If you have just one ignition coil with a distributor, judging by the fact that your car is approx 13 years old, it is probably the ignition coil that is needing to get replace. When the ignition coil has reached its maximum life capacity, it dies whey it gets hot. Then when it gets cold, it starts again.
Of course, I don't have access to your car to diagnose the problem, so becuase of this I want to remind you that here is a lot of factor as to why your car would die like that. If replacing the coil does not help, try replacing the ignition moduel or have it checked.
