Battery light seems to come on periodically and flicker. sometimes voltage to the interior systems inc lights, dash, fans and headlights fluctuates high and low. Car seems to be running off battery power, not charging battery while running and draining it when not. Need of jump start continually due to dead battery and won't idle without stalling (drops below 7-800rpm and cuts out. I've heard of internal regulator faults or blown fuses causing similar problems. Not sure how to attempt to fix myself (would like to).
Sounds like the internal regulator. If you can get the alternator off your local Auto parts store can test it for you
Get a volt meter, start your car and see how many volts your car is producing while running. Should be around 14 volts. May want to watch the meter for a while since your electric seems to fluctuate. Most voltage regulators are internal of your alternator. If you are getting a lot more or less than 14 volts while running, replace the alternator. If it is not charging, voltage will drop as vehicle runs, until battery is dead.

i got to admitt thats alot of things to go wrong at once. i am no expert here, but there is a chance you got a loose or broken ground somewhere. chk. battery cables make sure there clean and tight, and any other ground straps you can find. with todays computered cars and trucks grounds are a big thing and just one not making contact can make the whole system go haywire. GOOD LUCK.
Testimonial: "Thanks for the advice. I did have a couple of things wrong but most were fixed with the battery solution. The MFG had a recall on the ABS system"

Appeats voltage regulator ha a plroem, but, check battery wwater level before replacin battery or alternater.

alternator gone bad, 100%. as the voltage starts dropping, all the lights on the dash will go crazy because the electronics cannot perform their self diagnostics, as they do not have sufficient voltage.

check your body grounds sounds like a lose conection and also check the connection at the starter seloniod!!!

Hello, It could be what you said. But if you know the Voltage was too high, you may want to replace the Ignition Relay and the Fuel pump Relay. If the contact points are cooked, they could work intermittently and it would be difficult to test. A bump or a little overheating could cause the contact points to break loose and then work when they cool.
It is good that the "check lights" are off. I always tell my clients that the scans are free at Autozone, Oreillys, and Advance. Some things like Relays may not trigger a light.
Be careful with a Wiggle test, but you may find a short in the wiring by shaking the wiring under the hood. I doubt the Voltage Regulator is causing your current stalling problem. A fully charged Battery without a Regulator or an Alternator would provide an amount of reliable power until the Battery was drawn down.
I hope my Solution is very helpful.
